How thick is the glass, and how strong is the stained glass
Stained glass is 3 to 4 m"m thick. pieces of more than 0.5 m. must be strengthened with supports or divider into smaller areas, depending on the size of the stained glass. anotherprefered alternative is to enccase the stained glass between 2 sheet of clear glass- thus gaining safety and cleanliness, and conserving energy.Sand etching and fused glass the thickness of the glass depends on the design and on the demands of accepted standards. The glass can also be tempered - up to 4 times the strenght ofuntreated glass
are the colors fast
Vitrage glass is treated in special ovens, during itsproduction chemicals and metals are added so that the glass will never lose is color.Vitrage in churches more then 600 years old still retain their original freshness. In the FUSING process, glass is put into special glass ovens and the coloring is fused to the glass forever. In ETCHING, we use special non-fading colors and not the ordinary glass colorings which fade in sunlight
What determines the price
Price depends mainly on the size and complexity of the order. Each method has its own price per square meter. In STAINED GLASS the price rises with the number of sections. In ETCHING - according to the complexity of the design, with supplements for color and for deep etching. Obviously costs will rise for thicker glass, for tempering, for bending, etc. In MOSAIC work- the material of the tesseraes- stone or glass and their size and complexity. In FUSING - the raw materials used and the method. In other words , each order is individually priced considering its plan and the demands of design, safety and functionality

Do I have to remove my current window to install a stained glass window?
All of our windows are custom-fitted to your current window, transom or sidelight. Our stained glass windows install against your current window, providing an additional layer of insulation and protection, while still allowing the beauty of stained glass to shine through. There is no need to remove your window to have the beauty of stained glass in your home. In fact, many of our customers specifically choose stained glass to provide increased privacy for doors and windows, allowing light to come through, with or without color, while maintaining privacy.
Can you make a stained glass window from a painting or photograph?
Yes, it's something we do quite frequently. One of the more popular stained glass windows we create is to use images from one or more photographs to recreate a magical or special moment in glass. Whether it's a photograph of a bird filmed on vacation, or a motorcycle parked in front of a favorite destination, we can create custom stained glass artwork that forever captures and shares your memories.
What types of effects can you create with stained glass?
Architectural Stained Glass does not have to include color. We use beveled glass, leaded glass, stained glass, etched glass, mirrors and many other effects to create the artwork you envision and describe during our consultations. Many of our works do not use color, but convey warmth and depth through unusual shapes, designs and advanced glass techniques
